Fall 2025 - Spring 2026 Course

Writing Group: Financial Regulation, Consumer Financial Protection, Digital Assets, Federal Budget Policy, Entitlement Reform, and Related Topics

Analytical Paper Required:Per the specification of the writing group, all enrolled students complete a research paper of one credit (at least 20-25 pages) or two credits (50 or more pages), with faculty and peer review of a substantially complete draft. This paper can be used to satisfy the analytical paper requirement for J.D. students.

Professor Howell Jackson has a limited number of research topics that would be appropriate for students interested in joining his Writing Group this year. Interested students should coordinate with Professor Jackson’s assistant, Vincenza Rico (vrico@law.harvard.edu), to schedule a meeting to discuss these or other topics. Students in his Writing Group will work independently on their papers during the Fall semester, and the group will meet for eight joint sessions in the Spring semester on Tuesday mornings from 8:30 am to 10:00 am.

Students enrolling in a writing group are required to submit a signed Writing Group Registration Form to the Registrar’s Office.
