The tradition of equity jurisprudence is often discussed under the rubric of private law. Yet both equitable remedies and the larger idea of equity are central to public law as well. We will discuss topics such as equitable remedies against (and on behalf of) public officers, remedies in administrative law, structural injunctions, and the role of equity in legal interpretation.
