Abstract: The article considers Mormonism and its effect on the 2008 U.S. presidential race as one of the U.S. Republican Party's principal candidates, Mitt Romney, is a Mormon. Even though the mainstream Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) does not endorse polygamy or racial intolerance, Mormonism's past is stained by stories of polygamy and doctrine concerning how races be considered.
