Abstract: The article discusses the growth of in-house counsel in U.S. companies and their performing the work traditionally done by the outside counsel. It also discusses the rise of in-house counsel movement in other parts of the world, especially in the emerging economies. The internal counsel's new and increased roles in the companies are also discussed.
