Abstract: The article looks at the story of Africans in North America which is longer and more varied that the version most people were taught in school. Topics discussed include the story of former slave and Moroccan explorer Estebanico, the role played by the Black people who came to the Americas with the Spanish in exploring Mexico, Central America and South America, and the reality of Black history of American history.
