Legal Practice Settings – Nonprofit/Advocacy Panel (2012)1:18:27 10/18/2012
When we hear the word “nonprofit,” most of us may think of traditional charities like the United Way, the Salvation Army, or Meals-On-Wheels. However, there are thousands of nonprofit organizations providing comprehensive legal advice, representation, and education to low-income or marginalized communities, and an equal number using lawsuits or legislative advocacy to protect or create rights, improve services, or raise public consciousness about an issue. A distinguished panel of attorneys provided vivid descriptions of their practices, work environments and career paths, and helped students figure out how to figure out which kind of nonprofit may be right for you.
