      • Professors Christopher T. Bavitz and Molly Brady will lead a dynamic discussion about ways in which artificial intelligence tools are shaping both the practice of law and the education of law students. The conversation will touch on the growing role of AI for attorneys, including use cases in private law practice and government, as well as questions about pedagogy, ethics, and professional responsibility. This session will also examine emerging trends, regulatory implications, and the evolving role of lawyers and legal educators.

    Freedom from the Inner Critic and Leadership of Self
    WCC 2004

    • In this training, Elizabeth Pyjov ’19 will discuss why freedom from the inner critic is especially valuable for lawyers and how they can use self-compassion as a tool in their everyday lives and careers. This interactive workshop takes a scientific, evolutionary approach to uncovering how the inner critic was created, what purpose it serves, and how lawyers can transform harsh judgments into wise discernments.

    Difficult Conversations: In Legal Practice, in Leadership, and in Life (Especially the “Life” Part)

    • This session will invite candid discussion about the challenging conversations in our lives—professional and personal. We’ll talk about why candid feedback is so hard, even as we know that feedback is central to our ability to serve clients, lead organizations, and continue to learn and grow in our most important relationships. Along the way, we’ll also talk about the new HLS Negotiation Requirement and how we are equipping HLS graduates to make a difference.

    Clinical Student Panel: Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinical Program

    • The Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinical Program (HIRCP) houses the Immigration and Refugee Clinic, the Crimmigration Clinic, the Harvard Law School Immigration Project, and the Harvard Representation Initiative. This panel will explain how the program trains law students, providing them with transferable legal skills while advancing immigration law. Hear from current and recent clinical students about their work on cutting-edge immigrants’ rights issues and how alumni can get involved.

    Alumni with young children are invited to attend a special family-friendly session hosted by magician and balloon artist Jungle Jim. Jungle Jim uses his skills and humor to perform an energy-driven, family-focused balloon magic show that leaves audiences delighted and inspired!

    Harvard Law School Library, Langdell Hall, Library 4th Floor

    Special pop-up exhibits located in the Law School Library’s Root Room will be available from 3:45–5:00 pm, featuring early manuscripts, a deposition given by Wyatt Earp, materials from an infamous 19th-century murder trial of a Harvard lecturer, a selection of highlights from the Art & Visual Materials Collection, and much more.

    The Science of Willpower, Intentions, and How to Have Endless Energy

    • Informed by the latest research in psychology, neuroscience, and medicine, this session examines how willpower, burnout, and energy operate in demanding professional settings. The training will also explore why lawyers often feel depleted even when they are doing “everything right.” We will explore questions such as: Why do we sometimes feel like we don’t have enough willpower, even when we’re motivated? What happens when the bar of perfection is too high? And what can we do daily to have more energy?

    The Young and the Influential: Rewriting the Legal Scripts for Youth and Family Life Online

    • Hosted by section-mates Leah A. Plunkett ’06 (Meyer Research Lecturer on Law, HLS) and John Bash ’06 (Partner, Quinn Emanuel), this session will unpack cutting-edge trends in new state laws and key judicial decisions addressing the online experiences of kids, teens, and families in areas such as content creation and moderation, platform design, parental liberty, and child and teen health. We will discuss how this rapidly developing body of legislation and case law is resolving or complicating the daily dramas of online life that youth, families, and all of us experience.

    Tariffs and Trade: the Choices That Led Us Here and What Comes Next

    • The hyper-active tariff and trade actions of the current U.S. administration have been bewildering to many inside and outside the United States. But it is clear to those who have been on the front lines of U.S. trade policy and domestic labor policy, that these are the consequence of choices in law, policy, and politics that the United States and its leaders have made over recent decades. Drawing on their respective backgrounds, Prof. Sharon Block and former U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai ’01 will examine through conversation, the origins of today’s tariffs and trade turmoil, the latest developments, and where we as a nation – and as a world – go from here.

    The Harvard Election Law Clinic and Building Local Power

    • Launched in 2021, the Harvard Election Law Clinic trains the next generation of election lawyers through litigation and advocacy that bring novel academic ideas to the practice of election law. In this session, clinic director Ruth Greenwood and her students will share stories of their work to build power at the local government level for historically marginalized communities and to preserve voting rights.
