Spring Interview Program (SIP) – Public Sector

The Spring Interview Program (SIP) is a program run jointly by the Office of Public Interest Advising (OPIA) and the Office of Career Services (OCS). It consists of virtual interviews and resume collections and provides students with another opportunity to interview with employers hiring for summer and postgraduate positions. Both public and private sector employers will be participating in the SIP program. The process on how to submit applications and select interviews will be documented here in early January so you may more easily navigate the process.

In conjunction with the Virtual Spring Interview Program, there will be virtual employer chats on January 14^th and 15^th that students may register for in advance. The purpose of the employer chats is to allow students to connect with employers in an informal setting, and to learn more about the organization’s work and opportunities to engage. While many employers who registered for the interview and resume collection programs plan to host these chats, there will also be representatives from organizations who are not formally recruiting through the V-SIP program. 

This page focuses specifically on the process for the public sector program, and will walk you through the steps you should take before you reach the application/bidding stage and how to submit your bids once you get there. Because the process differs for private firms, please review OCS’s guidance for private sector recruitment.

Because this guide contains a great deal of information, you should not feel the need to absorb everything in one sitting, but you should reference the information as you progress through the stages of the program.
