Sign Up to Be a Nonpartisan Election Protection Poll Monitor in Boston
Sign up for a 3-hour poll monitoring shift at a high-priority polling site in Boston or elsewhere in Massachusetts, organized by the national, nonpartisan Election Protection (EP) coalition.
Training: Equal Democracy Project and Office of Clinical and Pro Bono Programs is hosting an in-person training from Common Cause lawyers, a member of the coalition, on Thursday, October 22, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. (dinner will be served!). If you can’t make it, you can complete a remote training on one of several other scheduled dates. Please RSVP to help us plan our dinner order!
To sign up as a nonpartisan EP poll monitor on Election Day, please complete these two steps:
1. Complete the EP signup for students: https://protectthevote.net/?source=MA_Students
or the EP signup for non-student volunteers https://protectthevote.net/?source=MA
2. Register through EP’s website for the HLS in-person training on October 22: https://app.protectthevote.net/volunteer/trainings/364 (this link works only after you’ve completed step 1).
3. Only after you’ve completed the in-person training or other remote training can you take a short quiz and then select an election day shift time and location.
Shift work is eligible for HLS pro bono credit for HLS students. Staff and faculty are also encouraged to volunteer.
