Case Viewer

Created by Professor Benjamin Eidelson for macOS and iOS, this app retrieves and displays judicial opinions and federal statutes in a clean, unfussy format. The app, which is free but includes premium features for a small fee, pulls from several publicly available sources.

Environment

Environmental Justice Tracker

Created by the Environmental & Energy Law Program, this website monitors federal agency regulations, policies, and executive actions that affect communities’ exposure to environmental pollution.

Food Policy

U.S. Food Waste Policy Finder

A collaboration between the nonprofit ReFED and the Food Law and Policy Clinic, this tool maps the current federal and state policies related to food waste and highlights best-practice legislation and policy recommendations.

Citations

Perma.cc

In a sample of several legal journals, approximately 70 percent of all links in citations published between 1999 and 2011 no longer point to the same material as they did then. This tool, created by the Library Innovation Lab, solves that problem. When a user creates a Perma.cc link, the tool archives the referenced content and generates a link to an archived record of the page that will always be available.

Redistricting

PlanScore

Developed in partnership with the Election Law Clinic, this website is a resource for policymakers and advocates to examine new district maps and assess gerrymandering. It also provides a comprehensive historical gerrymandering dataset.

Public Opinion

TrueViews

A collaboration between scholars and organizations at George Washington University and Harvard, this data tool provides users with an immediate snapshot of how residents in any particular state, county, district, city/town, or ZIP code feel about 32 different policy issues, ranging from marijuana decriminalization to universal health care to fossil fuel emission limits.

Committed to presenting public opinion estimates neutrally and transparently, TrueViews derives its estimates from national surveys.

Religion

SHARIAsource

This project of the Program in Islamic Law aims to provide comprehensive content and context on Islamic law in a way that is accessible and useful—and serves as a portal into the digital world of Islamic legal studies.

Data Privacy

Transparency Hub

This open-access resource from the Applied Social Media Lab at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society provides access to more than 20,000 policy documents from 300 social media platforms. It was designed to help people search, compare, and better understand the data practices of consumer-facing social and technology applications.
