The Harvard Law Review has elected Robert Allen ’09 as its 122nd president.
“The Law Review is going to have a fantastic year with Bob as president,” said outgoing president Andrew Crespo ’08. “Bob is a warm and caring leader who is deeply respected by all of our editors. Through his dedication to the Law Review and his insightful approach to legal scholarship, he will make a real contribution to our organization and to the pieces we publish. I am excited to see the Law Review flourish under Bob’s leadership this coming year.”
Allen graduated with highest honors from Emory University, earning a B.A. in economics and political science in 2006. He was Phi Beta Kappa and earned the Jack and Lewis Greenhut Award for most outstanding economics thesis. Allen is a native of Atlanta, Ga.
“Andrew and his class have guided the Review to new heights,” said Allen. “Their leadership and passion for legal scholarship have set new standards for the Review. I am incredibly honored to be able to work with next year’s group of talented and devoted editors, and I am confident that, together, we will continue the Review’s tradition of excellence in legal scholarship.”
Allen highlighted the many achievements of the Review during Crespo’s term as president. The Review organized a Supreme Court Forum featuring Professors Martha Nussbaum, Heather Gerken, James Ryan, and Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson. In March 2007, the Review also published a tribute to Judge Richard Posner.
The Law Review, founded in 1887 by future Supreme Court Justice Louis D. Brandeis, is an entirely student-edited journal with the largest circulation of any law journal in the world. For more information on the publication and recent issues, please visit the Harvard Law Review.
