The LL.M. Class of 2027, along with S.J.D. candidates and international exchange students, kicked off the academic year on August 12, attending a wide range of orientation programming hosted by the Harvard Law School Graduate Program.

This year’s graduate program cohort includes a 184-member LL.M. class with 183 students who hold law degrees from schools outside the United States. Also beginning their studies this fall are eight new Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.) candidates, all Harvard Law School LL.M. alumni from the Class of 2026. They join 44 continuing S.J.D. candidates. In addition, seven international exchange students  from partner schools in Cambridge, Geneva, Seoul, Paris, and Sydney are also part of this year’s graduate program student community.

After a festive check-in and reception, students got to know one another and the campus community through activities that included a morning jog around campus, speed networking, and an ice cream social, culminating in a welcome address and reception with Dean John Goldberg.
