Bob Myers, the former basketball executive who led the Golden State Warriors to four NBA championships, will be Harvard Law School’s 2025 Class Day speaker.

Class Day will take place on the law school campus on Wednesday, May 25. Myers was invited to speak by the 2025 Class Marshals, who are elected by fellow members of the graduating class of J.D. and LL.M. students.

“It is a privilege to be invited to speak at Harvard Law School Class Day, and I am honored to join in celebrating this extraordinary group of individuals,” said Myers. “I hope my remarks will both honor their achievements and encourage them as they step into the next chapter of their legal careers.”

Stephen Ball ’10, dean of students at Harvard Law School, wrote in an email to graduating students: “We are thrilled to have Mr. Myers share his reflections and wisdom with the Class of 2025. His success in multiple arenas epitomizes what we so often counsel students about the versatility of a law degree, the many fruitful pathways it can provide, and the long, commonly meandering arc of one’s career.”

Myers, who was general manager and later president of the Golden State Warriors from 2012 to 2023, is currently a studio and in-game analyst for ESPN and ABC. In addition to NBA game broadcasts, he regularly appears on ESPN’s NBA Countdown and NBA Today. As of 2024, Myers also holds the title of president, HBSE Sports & special advisor, Washington Commanders.

A member of the University of California Board of Regents, Myers earned a J.D. at Loyola Law School.

During his tenure with the Warriors, Myers was twice named NBA Executive of the Year. Under his leadership, the teams he assembled made seven straight trips to the NBA playoffs and six trips to the finals. Myers oversaw the hiring of Steve Kerr as head coach and the acquisitions of key players including Kevin Durant, Andre Iguodala, and Shaun Livingston.

Prior to his time with Golden State, Myers spent 14 years as a basketball agent. He began his career under Arn Tellem, where he grew to become one of Tellem’s top associates. After completing his J.D., Myers went on to serve as vice president for SFX Sports before becoming an agent at Wasserman Media Group.

Myers played college basketball for the UCLA Bruins from 1993 to 1997. He was a member of their 1995 NCAA championship team and later served as a radio commentator for UCLA basketball for two seasons. He currently resides in California with his wife and children.
