  1. The full High-Profile Events policies and procedures are available here.
  2. If your organization is interested in extending an invitation to a head of state, head of government, cabinet minister, high profile official or leader, controversial speaker, or political candidate, you must contact Allison Patenaude at dosceeb@law.harvard.edu first before reaching out.
  3. Any recognized Harvard student organization seeking to invite a sitting head of state or head of government to campus must have a Harvard unit as a co-host, such as an academic center, institute, or department. DOS-CEEB will not serve as a co-host. The co-hosting unit should include a faculty member with relevant regional or topical expertise, or appropriate oversight responsibility, who will be present at the event and participate in the planning process. This co-host must be in place before your DOS-CEEB will approve the invitation and work with the University Marshals Office to move forward.
  4. DOS-CEEB will work with you and the University Marshal’s Office to:
    • See if another Harvard group already has an invitation out to the same person
    • Ensure there are no competing invitations
    • A police detail may be required and HUPD must be notified (for in person only). All security charges are incurred by the student organization.
    • If needed, please review the Protest and Dissent Guidelines.
