LIPP will provide assistance during a parental leave of up to six months regardless of whether the leave is approved by an employer or the participant is returning to the same position or employer after the leave. LIPP eligibility will be calculated as if the graduate were working full-time during this period of time and using the average of the two full-time equivalent incomes surrounding the leave.

LIPP also covers individuals working part-time (17.5 hours/week minimum). For purposes of eligibility and contribution rates, the full-time salary equivalent is considered.

Participants interested in taking advantage of these policies will have to submit the Parental/Part-Time Leave Employer Certification Form and Parental Information Sheet with each application.
