TRIAL International

Geneva, Switzerland

Samrit will join TRIAL International’s International Investigation and Litigation team as a Kaufman fellow. His work will focus on bringing universal jurisdiction cases in Swiss courts to hold individuals and corporate actors accountable for grave violations of human rights perpetrated in the context of armed conflicts.

In his LL.M. year at Harvard Law School, Samrit was an Assistant Managing Editor of the Harvard Human Rights Journal and Executive Technical Editor of the Harvard Civil Rights‐Civil Liberties Law Review. He believes that the experience of serving as a Student Attorney at the International Human Rights Clinic and HLS Advocates for Human Rights has prepared him for a public interest career defending and advocating for human rights.

Samrit received his first law degree from Tribhuvan University, Nepal Law Campus, and is licensed to practice law in Nepal. Before coming to HLS, he clerked at the Supreme Court of Nepal, litigated public interest cases, and worked with International IDEA in Kathmandu to promote deliberative and inclusive democracy in federal Nepal.
