New York, NY

Melissa will spend her fellowship year at Pregnancy Justice in New York City, where she will work to defend and expand the rights of pregnant people and advance reproductive justice nationwide. She joins Pregnancy Justice after clerking for Justice Rachel Wainer Apter of the New Jersey Supreme Court.

At Harvard, Melissa was Editor‐in‐Chief of the Harvard Journal of Law and Gender and a student attorney in the LGBTQ+ Advocacy and Housing Law Clinics. With the Housing Justice for Survivors Project, Melissa supported survivors of domestic violence to navigate their legal options in the aftermath of abuse and discrimination. During her summers, she contributed to civil rights litigation at Beldock Levine & Hoffman and the ACLU of Southern California’s LGBTQ, Gender, and Reproductive Justice Project.

Before law school, Melissa worked at the Center for Justice Innovation, where she helped to design and implement criminal justice reform programs across New York City.

Melissa graduated from Georgetown University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Women’s and Gender Studies.
