Marianne is a human rights lawyer from the Philippines. As a Kaufman fellow, she will be working with the Global Justice Center, where she will focus on seeking justice for mass atrocity crimes committed against Rohingya women and girls, furthering gender justice through the development of the treaty on the Prevention and Punishment of Crimes Against Humanity, and fighting for abortion access in the United States.

During her time at Harvard, Marianne was a Research Assistant at the Program on International Law and Armed Conflict, an Articles Editor of the Harvard Human Rights Journal, and a member of Advocates for Human Rights. As a Student Attorney for the International Human Rights Clinic, she contributed to the efforts toward the creation of a treaty regulating the trade of weapons that may be used for torture or other forms of ill-treatment. 

Before pursuing her LL.M., Marianne was a Program Officer at The Asia Foundation, where she led the Empowered Movements for Rights and Gender Equality Program. She taught public international law and legal history at the University of the Philippines, where she likewise coached the 2024 World Champions of the Jessup and Stetson moot court competitions. She also taught gender law at De La Salle University. Marianne obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of the Philippines. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, a minor in English Literature, and a minor in Gender Studies from the Ateneo de Manila University.
