
No More a Stranger Foundation (NOMAS)

Felicia Caten‐Raines will spend her fellowship year with the No More a Stranger Foundation (NOMAS) in her hometown of Salt Lake City. During the fellowship, Felicia will launch a removal defense program to expand legal representation for asylum seekers at risk of deportation.
At HLS, Felicia served as an Executive Editor for the Harvard International Law Journal. She worked as a student attorney in the Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinic and Crimmigration Clinic. As part of her clinical service, she represented an immigrant client and co‐authored a report on the misuse of solitary confinement in immigration detention centers that was featured in The New York Times. She also interned with legal organizations assisting asylum seekers in New York City, San Diego, and Belgrade.
Felicia earned her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Brigham Young University. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and looks forward to learning Spanish.
