Anna Kate Manchester will spend her fellowship year with the International Humanitarian Law Centre, where she will explore the intersection between belligerent occupation and the right to self-determination while advocating for adherence to international humanitarian law, international human rights law, and international criminal law in armed conflicts around the world.
While at Harvard Law School, Anna Kate served as Co-President of HLS Advocates for Human Rights student practice organization and Lead Executive Editor for the Harvard International Law Journal. She routinely participated in the International Human Rights Clinic. During her summers, Anna Kate interned with the Jerusalem desk of the IHL Centre and the British Institute for International and Comparative Law.
Before law school, Anna Kate studied international law and human rights at St. Catherine’s College at the University of Oxford. She earned her B.A. in Legal History and Political Science from the University of Alabama.
