Episode 17: Caitie Parmelee

Caitie Parmelee, LLM and Student Affairs Administrator
In this episode, Edgar sits down with Caitie Parmelee from the Graduate Program. Caitie was born in Pennsylvania but raised in a small town in Connecticut. She spent her childhood with her 2 siblings and the neighborhood kids. For college, she went to the University of CT. She mentions that one of the best experiences she had was the semester abroad in England, where she created friendships for life.
Edgar and Caitie discuss depression and for mental health care. During her last year in college, Caitie moved back home, which helped to prepare her for life after graduation. She moved in with her sister in the first year after college looking to work with the nonprofit field and taking some temporary work via agencies. Eventually, she landed a position in the Graduate Program. She shares her experience working and learning with the job and with international students. Edgar learns about her travels abroad and the beautiful work she does in Africa as a volunteer with the Taasa Organization.
Some fun facts about Caitie:
-Her favorite movie is the Truman Show.
-One of her favorite animals is the hippo.
-Her next trip is to Australia, which will be her 6th continent!
