Trina Burrous, Assistant Director Talent Acquisition
In this episode, Edgar sits down with HR’s own Trina Burrous. We get to hear Trina’s early years, living across New England in a time before cell phones. Trina talks about her high school experience being a mix of good and bad due to being shy and introverted.
Everything changed for Trina when she started college at UConn. She talks about the eye-opening experience of being part of such a diverse population. After college she worked a few odd jobs, waiting tables and administrative work.
Later, she moved to Florida with a friend to get away from the cold and experience other opportunities far from home. She says she stayed in Florida longer than planned enjoying the sun and going to the beach often. She worked as waitress there as well until she felt was time to move on. She moved back to the Northeast and found a job as an HR assistant in a travel nurse company, where she stayed for 12 years.
We learn more about her career journey and how she eventually ended up at Harvard Medical School. Tune into the second part of the episode to learn about her experiences at Harvard.
