Gillien Todd

Gillien has been a Lecturer at Harvard Law School since 2001, teaching the Negotiation Workshop, and is currently the faculty course head for the Winter Negotiation Workshop. Since 2016, she has been jointly appointed at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she also teaches negotiation.

When she is not teaching, she enjoys 1:1 executive coaching and working with senior leadership teams that are navigating conflict, strained relationships, or challenges with problem-solving. In past years, she has taught workshops in negotiation, difficult conversations, and feedback across the country, to audiences ranging from doctors at top teaching hospitals to state appellate judges to public school administrators, financial services professionals, and more.

In the public sector, she has mediated contract negotiations for school districts and symphony orchestras; facilitated strategic relationship management among alliance partners; and led a multi-year multi-stakeholder collaboration in the public sector. She is a trained mediator and has served on the Board of the Harvard Mediation Program.

Gillien was born and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She received a B.A. from Yale University, an M.Ed. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
