Cindy Zapata is the Assistant Director of the Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinical Program and a Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School. She is also a Senior Clinical Instructor in the Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinic, where she supervises and trains law students representing clients in matters before the Immigration Court, Board of Immigration Appeals, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Her work also includes coordinating community outreach initiatives throughout the greater Boston area, including Know-Your-Rights presentations and Advice and Counsel sessions.

As supervising attorney for the HLS Immigration Project, a student practice organization focused on immigration advocacy and community engagement, Cindy Zapata mentors students on outreach, policy advocacy, and related immigration initiatives. Prior to joining Harvard Law School, she was a litigation associate at Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP. She earned her J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law and her B.A. in Political Science from Queens College–CUNY.
