Develop deep understanding of the global financial system and the impact on the legal industry.

Lawyers and legal professionals, financial professionals, and policy makers need a clear understanding of how the international financial system functions and how it is governed to advance in their careers and lead their organizations. The Global Financial System: Structure and Regulation provides an in-depth understanding of fundamental and emerging policy issues, as well as timely reflections on current events impacting global markets and policymakers.

The Global Financial System: Structure and Regulation is an in-person program led by Professor Hal S. Scott and other leading academics that will give participants a detailed framework for analyzing policy issues that will shape the financial system of the 21st century, allowing them to understand and convey the ramifactions on their work and their clients. Participants will have an opportunity to engage with speakers and each other on core challenges facing their industry, clients, and stakeholders.

Delivered over three days, the program will consist of sessions that cover ten core topics in banking and capital markets, from traditional issues, such as capital and liquidity, to new challenges, such as emerging financial technology, to in-depth coverage of the largest financial markets in the world in the United States, the European Union, and China. The program will also feature brief recorded interviews with leading market and policy makers. This unique in-person program will give participants the chance to directly discuss these topics with faculty from Harvard Law School and other leading institutions, expert practitioners in the field, as well as fellow attendees.
