About the Event
The decisions we make about AI governance today will have lasting consequences. Through a talk followed by interactive discussion, we will examine what’s at stake for our future and what stands in our way to effective governance of increasingly powerful AI systems. With AI capabilities advancing rapidly, there is both urgency and opportunity in addressing these challenges.

About the Speaker
Julia Bossmann is an AI ethicist and independent researcher at Mila (Quebec AI Institute), focusing on AI alignment evaluations and governance challenges. She served on the ethics board at the International Conference on Learning Representations (ICLR) and advises the Human Rights Measurement Initiative (HRMI) and Rights Intelligence. She’s also an Edmund Hillary Fellow.
