The current era is defined by a significant realignment of global commerce, marked by the frequent and strategic deployment of tariffs as an instrument of national economic policy. This discussion will tackle the most pressing questions at the intersection of trade and domestic stability: Who truly bears the cost of these tariffs? How do they affect the supply chains that underpin modern commerce? And crucially, what is their immediate and long-term impact on the American worker and the structure of our labor markets? The discussion will also explore current trades such as the renewed interest in industrial policy, trade shocks amongst powerful global players and the quest for sustainable job creation.
