The Future is Today: US vs Maduro after U.S v. Noriega

This study-group session will analyze the potential assertions of immunity, constitutional and procedural objections in the ongoing Federal case against former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. It will rely on US judicial precedents and legal theories such as the protective principle, act of state and head of state immunity and constitutional due process. The case against General Manuel Antonio Noriega and the judicial precedents associated will also be contrasted with the facts of the Maduro case.
