Book discussion with Sharon Weill, co-author of Terror on Trial, An Ethnography of French Courts (CUP 2026), which examines how terrorism logics are reflected, represented, and negotiated within French criminal proceedings and offers a nuanced, bottom-up perspective on the role of courts, based upon hundreds of hearing days. Sharon Weill is a professor of international law at the American University of Paris and Senior lecturer at Sciences Po Paris (PSIA).
