October 23, 2026
12:15 pm - 1:15 pm
Langdell Hall; 225 Vorenberg Classroom - North
Join the Federalist Society and the American Constitution Society for a conversation with Professor Diego Zambrano (Stanford Law) and Professor Mariana Pargendler (Harvard Law) about the role of private law in vindicating rights, remedying wrongs, and holding powerful actors accountable. From tort liability and damages to injunctions and equitable relief, private law provides an array of remedies that raise fundamental questions about the relationship between individual rights, judicial power, and government accountability. The conversation will explore the historical foundations of private law remedies, their relationship to constitutional litigation, and the extent to which courts should use traditional private law doctrines to address contemporary legal disputes. Burritos will be served.
