On the Representation of Trans Incarcerated People: A Collaborative Training Hosted by PLAP and the LGBTQ+ Advocacy Clinic

Harvard Law School’s Prison Legal Assistance Project (PLAP) and the LGBTQ+ Advocacy Clinic are collaborating to host an event featuring Deborah (Deb) Lolai, Clinical Instructor at the LGBTQ+ Advocacy Clinic. Deb will discuss key themes from her forthcoming publication on the treatment of transgender people in carceral systems. This event, open to all, will include a dialogue addressing concerns raised by PLAP student attorneys and a cultural competency training. The training will explore the historical backdrop of trans incarcerated people’s experiences and provide guidance on conducting intake processes to ensure comprehensive representation for all clients.
