Meet the Judge: Hon. Anar Rathod Patel, Supreme Court for the State of New York, Commercial Division

Justice Anar Rathod Patel joins us from the Supreme Court for the State of New York, Commercial Division, a court created “to provide an efficient and predictable forum for resolution of complex, high stakes business disputes” in New York. This court offers unique clerkship opportunities to applicants interested in corporate law. Prior to her assignment to this court, Justice Patel served in the Ninth Judicial District presiding over civil cases in front of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, was Counsel in the Litigation Department at Simpson Thacher, and taught legal writing at Columbia.

Hear from this judge about her work and clerking and ask questions in a face-to-face, small group setting. Through your presence, you can express interest that could help you if you choose to apply for her clerkship in the future. Even if you are not interested in working for the particular judge or court, simply learn more about lawyering, judging, and clerking, which could help you with other judges.  Attendees consent through their registration to the program being recorded. Both current students and alumni are welcome. You may eat your lunch while on mute on Zoom.
