His record includes cutting violent crime to the lowest point in modern history in Newark, spearheading the nation’s fastest lead pipe replacement project, and advocating for humane treatment of detainees at ICE facility, Delaney Hall. In 2025, he ran for Governor of New Jersey on a platform centered on expanding voting rights, enfranchising incarcerated individuals, advancing campaign finance reform, and restoring transparency in government.
