High Stakes Entertainment Litigation with Mathew S. Rosengart

Mathew Rosengart joins us to talk about his storied career as a litigator. Rosengart has represented creatives in their most significant personal and public matters, including Britney Spears in her successful effort to end her infamous conservatorship. Join us to hear more about representing talent and navigating legal battles in the public eye.

A partner in the law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, specializing in white collar litigation and media and entertainment cases, Rosengart represented Britney Spears in the lawsuit that ended her 13-year conservatorship.

In addition to Spears, Rosengart has represented high-profile individual clients such as Sean Penn, Steven Spielberg, Eddie Vedder, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Jimmy Butler. Previously he was a supervisory assistant U.S. Attorney and U.S. Justice Department Trial Attorney, a law clerk to Hon. David H. Souter (N.H. Supreme Court), and a former adjunct professor at Fordham Law School. Recently, he was named Benchmark Litigation’s Entertainment Litigator of the Year for the second consecutive year.

 

The 2025 Harvard Entertainment Law Symposium, a three-day symposium jointly hosted by the Harvard Journal of Sports & Entertainment Law (JSEL) and the Committee on Sports and Entertainment Law (CSEL), will take place from April 1st-3rd 2025, on the Harvard Law School campus. The symposium brings together law students, faculty, alumni, and practitioners from across campus to discuss some of the most pressing legal issues in the entertainment industry.
