Join the Harvard European Law Association and the HLS Antitrust Association for a discussion with Professor Martín Martínez on topical issues in EU Competition Law. The European Union has been at the forefront of tackling the challenges presented by digital markets. It has adapted its competition framework in multiple ways, including updating traditional theories of harm and developing new ones to better suit the digital economy. Additionally, as many jurisdictions worldwide, the EU is actively reflecting on how competition law can help achieve broader public interest goals, such as strengthening democracy and combating climate change.
Martín Martínez is Professor of Competition Law at the Institute of European Studies (Université Libre de Bruxelles) and at the College of Europe. He is currently also a member of the competition team at the Legal Service of the European Commission. Previously, he worked as a law clerk to Mr. Anthony Collins, former Judge and Advocate General at the Court of Justice of the EU.
Lunch will be provided. The event is co-sponsored by the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies.
