Animal Advocacy and Big Law Under the Trump Administration: A Conversation with David Wolfson, Milbank Executive Chairman and Partner

The HLS Animal Law Society hosts David Wolfson, Partner and Executive Director at Milbank, for a conversation about his parallel stellar careers in big law and animal advocacy as well as how he thinks about advocacy under our current administration.

As Executive Director at Milbank, David works with the Chairman and the firm’s Executive Committee to manage the firm globally. He joined Milbank in 1993 and has been a partner since 2003. Mr. Wolfson focuses mainly on the representation of domestic and international companies in connection with a wide variety of business matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital investments, joint ventures, and corporate restructurings, including bankruptcy-related restructurings. He has significant cross-border M&A experience.

Simultaneously, Mr. Wolfson has published extensively in the animal protection field and currently teaches at NYU. He has represented a number of animal protection groups including the Humane Society of the United States (now Humane World for Animals), Mercy for Animals, Animal Outlook, and Compassion in World Farming, and was a key participant in numerous successful animal protection initiatives, including a number of ballot initiatives that resulted in first of its kind legal protections for farmed animals.
