Clinical Student Workshop on Movement Lawyering with Kiah Duggins

October 21, 2024

12:15 pm - 2:00 pm

WCC, Milstein West B

You are invited to a workshop for clinic students (past and present) on how we engage in movement lawyering in the fight for racial justice. The workshop will be facilitated by Kiah Duggins – the former president of the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau and a team leader with Harvard Defenders.  She is currently an attorney with the Civil Rights Corps where she litigates against unconstitutional policing and money bail practices.  This workshop will include a discussion of what movement lawyering is, what it means to be a movement lawyer, and how movement lawyers work with organizers and community members.  Students will be invited to provide their feedback about the workshop at the conclusion of the session.

Lunch will be available starting at 12:00PM.

Organized by Eloise Lawrence and Jacob Chin from the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau.
