Amanda Teo is the Executive Director of the Rappaport Center for Law and Public Policy. A career public servant, she previously served as Counsel to the U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts, advising the leadership team on strategic planning and cross-functional policy initiatives. She also practiced as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Civil Rights Unit. Amanda was Chief of Staff at the Suffolk County D.A.’s Office, where she led efforts to transition the state’s largest D.A.’s office toward a public-health-focused, data-informed, and equity-minded model of prosecution. An appellate prosecutor for a decade, Amanda has briefed and argued over 75 cases in the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and Court of Appeals. She serves as Vice-Chair of the Boards of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Suffolk County and the Park School of Brookline.

 

Amanda received her J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School, where she served as Executive Editor of the Harvard Law Review. She clerked for the Hons. Sandra Lynch and Kermit Lipez on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. She also taught for almost a decade at Harvard, where she obtained a M.A. and pursued a Ph.D. in English and American Literature. Amanda graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University. She has a certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from Cornell University.
