Legal History: English Legal History

Prerequisite: Previous or concurrent exposure to English Legal History or the permission of the instructor.

An exploration of the sources of English legal history for those who wish to study the high medieval and early modern periods (roughly 1100–1600) in more depth than is possible in the introductory course. Three short papers will be required.

This seminar does not fulfill the J.D. analytical writing requirement. Students interested in fulfilling that requirement through independent writing for additional credit, either in the same semester as the seminar or in a subsequent one, should speak with the instructor.
