Disability Rights Law

This course encompasses many aspects of disability rights, laws, and policies, with particular emphasis on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) which regulates employment, state and local governments, transportation, and public accommodations. This year marks the ADA’s 30th Anniversary. Readings, lectures, and other disability studies materials will provide context for the covered legal issues. All materials are posted to the course website, including a copy of the ADA: https://www.ada.gov/pubs/adastatute08.pdf.

This two credit course meets on Tuesdays from 5:00-7:00 online via Zoom. Your grade will be determined by a 15-20 page research and reflection paper, due January 2, 2021 by 12:30pm by email to me (and not via Canvas) mastein@law.harvard.edu with a copy to Mr. Zaisser mzaisser@law.harvard.edu .
