As Associate Director of Academic Affairs, April works on academic policy and curriculum development and implementation projects, serves as an advisor for joint-degree students, and manages the administration of the fall 1L reading groups program, and the HLS student writing prizes program. April first joined the Office of Academic Affairs team as the Assistant Director of Academic Affairs in November 2016. She previously served as the Workshop Coordinator for the HLS Negotiation Workshop academic courses, and as an Event Operations Supervisor in the HLS Office of Event Scheduling and Support, since joining the HLS community in 2013. While in law school, April was a research assistant for the sports agency, Symmetry, and was a legal intern for the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services. Prior to beginning law school, April interned for the New York State Office of the Attorney General: Court of Claims, the New York State Governor’s Appointments Office, and the New York State Assembly. April holds a J.D. from New England School of Law (Boston, MA) and a B.A. cum laude, in Political Science and Psychology, from Alfred University (Alfred, NY). She is admitted to the practice of law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Alaina joined the Office of Academic Affairs in September 2021 as the Faculty Affairs Data Manager. She has been with Harvard University for nine years. Prior to joining HLS, Alaina worked with the Office of Admissions at Harvard Extension School and the Alumni Relations Office at Harvard Business School. While working at HBS, Alaina earned a Master of Liberal Arts in the field of Management from Harvard Extension School. She also holds a B.A. in Communications, Legal Institutions, Economics, and Government, from American University (Washington, DC).
Lisa Langone
Academic & Faculty Affairs Administrator
Lisa joined the Office of Academic Affairs nearly 10 years ago. She brings a communications background to her role at Harvard Law School, possessing a unique blend of agency, government, corporate and non-profit sector experience. She started her career at a top 10 global PR firm, working in both the U.K. and Boston offices. Prior to joining HLS she was a spokesperson for the Massachusetts Port Authority, where she was a trusted source of information 24/7 for Boston Logan International Airport, Cruiseport Boston, the Tobin Bridge, and other properties in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Before that, she spent time in the Washington D.C. Press Office of Sen. Ted Kennedy. She also served on the presidential campaign for Sen. John Kerry, as part of his National Advance Staff. Lisa holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Boston University.
