The Senior Director of Faculty Financial Administration and Services works closely with the Office of Academic Affairs in the Faculty appointment process, as well as the onboarding of all new visiting faculty, and lecturers. This includes onboarding, I9 verifications, visa processing (as needed), PeopleSoft implementation, payroll processing and management.  This group also works closely with other peer institutions as needed to help coordinate visits each year/semester.

Also under Faculty administration is the faculty allowance process – most faculty and visitors are given an allowance to help support their teaching and research needs.  The assignment of allowance categories and amounts happen each year, usually in late August. Each person will receive an email with their specific categories and amounts. The allowance aligns with our fiscal year, which begins 7/1 and ends on 6/30.  The allowance for visitors and lecturers is generally based on classroom teaching credits and the specific amounts cannot be rolled forward from year to year. Additionally, any unspent allowance amounts will not be carried forward.  For specific inquiries on faculty allowances, including rules of the allowance,  please reach out to either Alma Lafler or Gina Cinelli.

Faculty Root Numbers:  Each faculty member (including visitors and lecturers) will generally receive a specific faculty root number. This is their unique identifier when processing reimbursements in Concur and in B2P. The root number is the last segment of numbers in the chart of accounts. An updated faculty root list is available on the Faculty Support Services website, linked here.
