Susan M. Davies is the Story Senior Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School. Davies served as Deputy White House Counsel to President Barack Obama, where she managed the Supreme Court confirmations for Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan. Before that, she worked in the U.S. government for the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, the Department of Justice, and the Clinton White House. Davies served as clerk for Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy and for then-Judge Stephen Breyer before his Supreme Court nomination. Davies currently works in private practice in Washington, D.C., and teaches an HLS course on “Legislation and Regulation.”
