Michelle Leung is the Director of the Race & Law Clinic and a Clinical Instructor and Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School.
Before joining Harvard Law School, Michelle spent a combined 14 years serving as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Civil Rights Unit of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts and as a Trial Attorney in the Special Litigation Section of the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division. There, she investigated and litigated a broad range of civil rights matters, with a primary focus on patterns of police misconduct and prison conditions. She also served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Rights Division in the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General. Michelle began her legal career as a litigation associate at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe in San Francisco.
She received her B.A. with Honors from Stanford University and her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law.
