All HLS mail is received and processed through the HLS Mail Center located in the lower level of WCC Room B084.  All resident student flat mail is placed in your HLS mailbox assigned to you and accessible with the key provided in your key packet during check-in.  When packages arrive and are processed, students are sent an email from hlspackagetracking@law.harvard.edu.  The Mail Center kindly requests you do not proceed to the HLS Mail Center to pick up packages without having received the email from the HLS Mail Center first.

Incoming Resident Students

  • What is dorm room staging?

    For incoming LL.M.s, incoming S.J.D.s, and ILS Exchange Students, all packages less than 50lbs, received and processed by the HLS Mail Center before 5pm on Thursday, August 8th, will be placed in your HLS resident room. All packages received after Thursday, August 8th will need to be picked up in the HLS Mail Center.

    For incoming J.D.s, J.D. Exchange Students, Transfer Students, Returning 2L and 3L J.D Students, and Returning S.J.D.s, all packages less than 50lbs, received and processed by the HLS Mail Center before 5pm on Monday, August 19th, will be placed in your HLS resident room. All packages received after Monday, August 19th will need to be picked up in the HLS Mail Center.

  • When can I begin shipping/ having items delivered?

    Resident students will receive an email providing their official HLS mailing address and mailbox number. Upon receipt of this email, students may begin shipping to their official HLS mailing address.

  • When will I receive my mailbox information?

    You will receive your mailbox information on July 24th from HLS Housing.

  • What happens to my deliveries after move-in?

    Your packages will be held in the HLS mailroom for pickup during business hours (M-F, 8am to 5pm).  You will receive an email notification when the package is ready for pickup.

Current Resident Students

  • I haven’t received an email notification, but my package was delivered

    USPS packages and mail are not directly delivered to the Harvard Law School mail room.  They are bulk received by Havard University Mail Services, sorted then delivered to the different Harvard schools causing a slight delay.

    All other carriers are delivered directly to the HLS mail room and processed shortly after delivery.

    If it has been over 36 hours since your package was delivered and you have not received a pickup email, please contact the HLS mailroom at hlsmail@law.harvard.edu with the following information.

    Tracking number, name of recipient, delivery address.

  • Can I drop off a pre-paid package?

    Yes, we are an authorized pick up location for the following carriers:

    UPS, USPS, Fedex Express, and Fedex Ground

  • Does the HLS mail room sell stamps?

    No, we do not stamps or shipping postage for sale.  The closest US Post Offices are listed below.

  • Lost Mailbox Key

  • What happens to incoming packages over the weekend?

    Primary delivery services have been notified that the HLS Mailroom is closed over the weekend.  Incoming packages are held and delivered the next business day we are open.
