Dear Members of the HLS Community,
Last Friday, Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) sent several notifications to the Harvard University community via MessageMe, the university’s emergency notification tool, concerning the report of a shooting near the Radcliffe Quad. These messages, which arrived for many in our community via text, email, and phone, directed affiliates to shelter in place until the public safety threat was resolved. Community members who have not registered for MessageMe did not receive these important safety notifications.
As a follow up to the annual HLS safety reminder message that I shared in September, I am writing today to emphasize the importance of signing up for MessageMeto ensure that you receive vital safety information concerning any future public safety threat in real time and as it unfolds. If you have not done so already, please sign up for alerts or update your contact information at messageme.harvard.edu today.
Registering with MessageMe is crucial both for your safety and for the safety of the entire HLS and Harvard community and it only takes a few minutes to register your contact information for these important updates.
Please also take a moment to review the additional campus safety information in the September email below. Thank you.
Best,
Tracee
