Taking Human Rights to the United Nations: A Training on UN Mechanisms
October 21, 2026
12:30 pm - 1:15 pm
WCC 3018
Want to learn more about the ways human rights advocates take salient issues to the UN for resolution? If so, join Professors Aminta Ossom and Daniel Levine-Spound for a UN Mechanism Training where they will cover treaty mechanisms, charter bodies, procedural hurdles to overcome, and strategies related to advocacy at the United Nations. This is the first training in a series meant to give students the practical foundations necessary for careers in international human rights law!
Join Advocates on October 21st in WCC 3018 for lunch and training! This training would be especially useful for 1Ls considering international placements this coming summer, or anyone else in the community interested in learning more about advocacy before one of the world’s major human rights mechanisms.
