JOL Symposium – Morning Panel: Taking the Fight to the States

Please join the Harvard Journal on Legislation for our annual symposium, this year entitled Filling the Breach: States’ Role in Protecting Consumers Amid Federal Administrative and Judicial Pullback. Over the course of the day, speakers will discuss the role of federalism in consumer protection law.

This morning panel features practitioners from state attorneys general offices and nonprofit organizations. Discussing the latest on the ground in consumer protection will be:

  • Laura Levine, Deputy Bureau Chief of the Consumer Frauds & Protection Bureau at the New York State Attorney General’s Office
  • Yael Shavit, Chief of the Consumer Protection Division at the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office
  • Eileen Connor, President and Executive Director of the Project on Predatory Student Lending
  • Kyra Taylor, Staff Attorney, National Consumer Law Center
  • Moderator: Persis Yu, Deputy Executive Director & Managing Counsel, Protect Borrowers
