Industrial animal agriculture depends on the invisible labor of workers who face dangerous conditions and limited power. Join FarmSTAND Senior Staff Attorney Amal Bouhabib and International Human Rights Senior Clinical Instructor Beatrice Lindstrom, HLS, as they examine the intersection animal agriculture and the labor of immigrants in the context of alleged discrimination, dangerous working conditions, and labor law violations at JBS Foods’ meatpacking plant in Greely, Colorado. The speakers will discuss the landmark class-action lawsuit Pierre v. JBS, a case FarmSTAND is actively litigating, which seeks justice for over 1,000 Haitian workers and exposes the human cost of the meat industry.
