November 6, 2025

12:30 pm - 1:15 pm

Hauser Hall; 102 Malkin Classroom

Join us for a conversation with Áslaug Arna Sigurbjörnsdóttir, the youngest Minister of Justice in Icelandic history. A lawyer by training, at just 25, she was elected both to Icelandic parliament (Alþingi) and as the Independence Party’s Secretary-General. Following her service as Minister of Justice, Sigurbjörnsdóttir was appointed as Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation where she was a trailblazer for gender equality, youth empowerment, and rural development. In 2022, she was named ‘Politician of the Year’ by One Young World. She will share insights on leadership, innovation, and the role of young voices in shaping national and global governance. From breaking barriers to reshaping systems, Áslaug will take us on a journey through the highest levels of government, offering a powerful glimpse into what it means to lead with purpose and pave the way for future generations of women leaders. Lunch will be served.
